Meeting Jesus Outside
From the Archives: February 9, 2022
Note: This post is part of my From the Archives series, originally written on February 9, 2022.
Augustin had his friend over today, like every Wednesday, so I made sure to feed them and head outside. It was so sunny and warm for February that it felt wrong to sit indoors and knit or cross-stitch while watching YouTube. My heart needed to get outside. And now that I am here, praying and worshiping God, my thoughts are clear and my heart is healing.
Life can get so complicated, and the only thing that can truly unpack those complications is a relationship with Jesus. So I’m slowly walking with my camera in hand, surrendering my thoughts, heart, and attitudes to Him. I’m asking for healing, restoration, and more of His life in me. The best part is that He is answering those prayers.
The sunshine alone feels healing and restoring. Winter isn’t over yet, but this little glimpse of spring and sunlight warms the heart and stirs joy and inspiration. As I walk, I move slowly so I can notice every detail around me on the streets of Rača. I peek into people’s yards to see what is budding, what is about to bloom. I soak in the colors and thank Jesus for meeting me here.
I’m realizing just how much I need these quiet walks. They are simple, free, and filled with joy, peace, and even a little adventure. Now I am ready to go home with my heart, my cup, and my camera full.
Note to self: When life feels heavy, go outside and seek Jesus.
