Beautiful Isn’t Perfect

Life has been a bit different lately after the loss of my brother-in-law (my sister-in-law’s husband). His funeral was on Thursday, and I haven’t had much to say because I’ve been mourning his loss.

Yesterday was our first normal day. It was also technically a full, beautiful, and joyful day in many ways. One of the joys was that Augustin came back from his school teambuilding three-day event, but then he left for a friend’s birthday party and didn’t come home until after 9pm. He’s been living a very full social life since starting high school, and I’m very happy for him.

Hubby and I went to the store for a few things, and the extra special experience was getting bubble tea, which I absolutely love. I also started a new sewing project, but in the middle of cutting up the pattern, I realised I cut out the wrong pattern and I’m making the pants that I really don’t want to make versus the ones I had in my head. Oh well! While I was in the middle of sewing up some of my pieces, my amazing husband made us a plum clafoutis. This is his first time baking ever, and he did an amazing job.

We also went to the fair that was in our neighbourhood called vinobraní. It has gotten quite popular, and there were a lot of people, but we got an amazing burčiak. After that, we watched Wreck-It Ralph to end our evening.

Like I said, it was a beautiful and joyful day. Not perfect, but beautiful isn’t perfect.
