Caring for Momma

These past few days, I’ve been acting as a caregiver to my momma. She wakes up dizzy and is weak the whole day. Her naps are frequent as she recovers from the loss of my brother, the stress of the last two weeks, and travelling with me to Slovakia. She’s a trooper because, despite it all, she is holding on. Her grief is a bit on hold due to her surroundings changing so much, which makes her numb to reality. It’s the reason I brought her with me, so her body can heal and recover.

We take very slow walks through the neighbourhood, and I need to hold her hand the whole time. We can only have one outing a day, as she gets tired. I spend my days cooking for everyone and making tea for my mom. I did do a bit of knitting yesterday. By 7pm, I am too tired to function. I hope that today I will be a bit stronger and my life more balanced.

I do want to mention that she has knit me the cutest pair of socks while she’s here. I’m surprised at how quick she is.
