A Slower Friday, Sunshine, and Simple Things
Fridays are usually full and a little intense. Between errands, housework, meeting friends, and Tín having a friend over, the day tends to feel like a blur. But this Friday was different—and I’m so thankful it was.
It was slower. Still full in its own way, but touched by sunshine and softness. And I think the light really helped shift the mood of the day.
Lunch, Nails and Friendship
Around 2 p.m., my friend Payal came over. We had lunch together—simple and unhurried—and then went out to get our nails done.
It’s such a small thing, but I’ve always loved having a friend to do nails with. I used to go with my dear friend Petronela, but she moved to another city. I miss those days with her, and I think of them often. But I’m grateful that Payal comes with me now. It’s different, but still special in its own way.
Evening Quiet and a Familiar Project
After finishing up my blog post and editing A Year to Inspire: Week 12, I was finally able to sit down and knit.
I’ve been working on a shawl for a couple of months now—something soft and familiar. I just got new yarn for it, and I’m hoping to finish it this week or next. The rhythm of knitting after a full day felt grounding. Like a small exhale.
A Friday Worth Repeating
It was a beautiful day—one of those Fridays that reminds me of what I want more of. Sunshine. A little space. Time with a friend. Creative work and simple comforts.
I’d like more Fridays to feel like this one.
Are there small routines that help shift your week toward rest?
